European Trip Budget

European Trip Budget

One of the major components of traveling is planning a budget.  Your budget will usually determine how long you can stay at your destination and what experiences you can have.  Here are some tips on creating a European trip budget.

No matter what your budget, you can visit Europe and have a great time.  Whether your budget is less than $50 a day or $1500 a day, you can experience Europe.  Most of the top European tourist attractions in Europe are free or very affordable.  Most people enjoy walking through the streets looking at beautiful architecture, enjoying a cappuccino at a café or spending a day looking at priceless art in a museum.  Usually the most expensive part of visiting Europe is lodging and food.  You can easily find some of the best restaurants in the world or a corner grocery store with fresh bread and cheese.

Before you book your vacation, set aside some time and decide what you really would like to see and do and how comfortable you would like to be.  Determine the amount of time you would like to stay in Europe. Many people unfortunately only have a week or two, while many students decide to spend the entire summer in Europe.

Many travel books include a chapter on budgeting your trip.  These guides usually have a mock budget and tell you how much it usually costs depending on a typical lifestyle.  For instance, $300 a day for 3 star accommodations or less than $100 for student type accommodations.  So if you are interested in visiting Europe, look into creating a European trip budget.
